Obsessed

I am obsessed with getting back to it.  I really, deeply miss my routine.  The tiny amount of "normal" brought back into my life with the Alter-G is so wonderful.  My PT went to watch me run yesterday and I got the green light to keep going.  Woohoo!  I was very worried that he might pull the plug on me, but apparently my stride is looking okay.  I have to keep thinking about extending and really pushing off the left leg, that's difficult for me since even though my stride isn't even (according to them) it feels that way to me.  It'll be a bit of a challenge to concentrate on that since I have a habit of just totally zoning out while I'm running but I'll get it done.  There is not a more motivated person on the face of the Earth right now :)

I'm still following the same basic schedule, PT'ing 2 times a week, Alter-G'ing 3 or 4 times and biking on the non-"running" days.  I can't wait to pump up the "running" some, but I'm still pleased as punch about what I have right now.  I try to not get too fired up, but it is hard.  Coach gets me ready to take on the world and prove everyone wrong by kicking the basic/normal person's recovery timelines butt, haha!  He's the master of that, running huge mileage weeks, getting faster again and really enjoying running on 2 TKR's.  He is an awesome source of inspiration. :)

It's going to blow my mind when I can start a run/walk progression on the roads.  I'm itching to train for real.  I miss that (good) exhausted feeling, I want to feel crazy fit again.  I also miss that horrible feeling right at the end of a 5k, believe it or not!  OMG, it's going to be such a long haul getting back into shape but it's going to be so much fun!

Racing season is getting going down in Florida, so that gets me feeling kind of sad.  I don't miss the weather and a whole handful of other things Florida, but I do miss my running friends from down there and the races I have done every year.  A1A is going to be a tough one!

Your South Florida running friends miss you (and Matt) too. I understand your frustrations, but follow doctor's orders so that you can "Get back to where you once belonged."
